The Grate Patrol

The Grate Patrol is a homeless outreach program administered by the Salvation Army in Washington. Every night of the year, the Grate Patrol delivers meals donated or made by volunteers to homeless men and women on the streets of the city. In addition, an outreach worker attempts to establish relationships with these men and women and to provide referral services and serve as a liaison to health services and housing programs.

Once a month after worship service, members of St. Luke's make 150 meals for distribution the following Tuesday. Church members also ride along in the distribution van for its evening run.
